Tape drive

The Universal Tape Library uses Fibre Channel or SCSI tape drives. For SCSI tape
drives, the SCSI bus is a wide (16-bit), low voltage differential (LVD) bus.
Note: For SCSI tape drives, the library supports only LVD SCSI buses. LVD SCSI

Library components

The Universal Tape Library components are described in Table 2. These
components must be purchased separately.

Library controller
configurations have a maximum allowable bus length of 12 meters (39.4
feet).

Description
Library chassis
The library chassis component consists of the following items:
v Library chassis
v Power cords
v Rack-mounting hardware
v Short SCSI cable
v Long SCSI cable
v SCSI terminator

Magazine
The magazine component consists of the left and right magazines. The
installation and use of the magazines is described in this document.
Tape drive
The tape drive component consists of the tape drive and cartridge
labels. Fibre Channel and SCSI tape drives are available. The
installation and use of the tape drive is described in this document.
