Engine oil

1. Put the outboard motor in an upright po-
sition (not tilted). NOTICE: If the motor
is not level, the oil level indicated on
the dipstick may not be accurate.

2. Remove the top cowling.
3. Remove oil dipstick and wipe it clean.
4. Insert the dipstick and remove it again.
Be sure to completely insert the dipstick
into the dipstick guide, otherwise the oil
level measurement will be incorrect.
5. Check the oil level using the dipstick to
be sure the level falls between the upper
and lower marks. Consult your Yamaha
dealer if the oil level is out of specified
level or if it appears milky or dirty.
