Starting & Stopping
For Your Safety
• Never use the mower unless the grass catcher or the guards supplied by the
manufacturer are in position.
• Before starting the mower check blades and bolt for damage or wear.
• If you strike an obstruction, stop the Mower and check the blades for damage.
WARNING
Worn and damaged blades are major hazards.
NOTE: Refer to Figure 10.
To START the Mower:
• Properly restrain the cable in the cable retain hang and plug in the main power
supply.
• Press and hold the safety lock-out button (1). (See Fig. 10)
• Pull the bail (2) upward to the handle to start the mower and release the button with
feet well away from blades.

To STOP the Mower:
• Release the bail.
• Wait for mower to completely stop, then remove the plug from the main power
supply. If the mower fails to stop or in emergency, switch off and unplug from the
main supply.
WARNING
Do not attempt to override the operation of the safety lock-out button or bail lever. Do not tie
or lock on the bail.
Do not leave the running mower unattended.
