Connecting external devices
Connecting a television set to S-Video Out
You can connect a television set to the notebook, e.g. to view a DVD comfortably.

With the key combination [Fn] + [F5] you can switch between the television set and the LCD
screen of the notebook.

Switch off the notebook and the television set.
Ê
Connect the television set to the S-Video Out socket of your notebook.
Ê
First switch on the television set and then the notebook.
Activating television set and selecting country setting

Select the Settings tab via Start - Control Panel - Appearance and Themes - Display.
Ê
Click on the Advanced button.
The Default Monitor and Mobility Radeon Properties window opens.
Ê
Select the Display tab.
Ê
Click on the TV button and then on the Apply button.
The TV Properties window opens.
Ê
Select the desired country setting in the Format tab in the TV Format Selector field.
Ê
Click on the Apply button to save the selected settings.
Connecting FireWire devices
External devices such as digital audio/video devices or other high-speed devices can be connected
to the FireWire port. The FireWire port operates at a speed of 400 Mbit per second.
FireWire devices are hot-pluggable. Therefore, the cables of FireWire devices can be

connected and disconnected with the system switched on.

Connect this data cable of the external devices to the FireWire port of the notebook.
Ê
Plug the power cable of the external device into the mains outlet.
