Apply moderate force to the front faceplate near the upper edge to secure the
module in the slot.

Press the latch to lock the module.

Power on the FortiGate unit.

To remove a FortiGate-ASM-FB4 module

Power off the FortiGate unit.

Attach the ESD wrist or ankle strap to your wrist or ankle and to an ESD socket or
to a bare metal surface on the chassis or frame.

Pull the latch on the FortiGate-ASM-FB4 module into the extended position. This
unlocks the module from the FortiGate unit.

Gently pull the latch to remove the module.
FortiGate-ASM-FB4 modules support both SerDes and SGMII type SFP
transceivers.
Dynamic SFP media type probing is not currently supported. Use the following
command to configure the SFP media type:
config system interface
edit AMC-SW1/1
set mediatype {serdes | sgmii}
end
The default value is serdes.
SerDes SFP transceivers support only the fixed speed of 1Gbps; SGMII supports
tri-speed mode (10/100/1000 Mbps). Because forcing speed could result in link
failure and disrupted service, Fortinet recommends enabling link speed auto-
negotiation.
