6 Apply moderate force to the front faceplate near the upper edge to secure the
module in the slot.
7 Press the latch to lock the module.
8 Power on the FortiGate unit.

To remove a FortiGate-ASM-FB4 module

1 Power off the FortiGate unit.
2 Attach the ESD wrist or ankle strap to your wrist or ankle and to an ESD socket or
to a bare metal surface on the chassis or frame.
3 Pull the latch on the FortiGate-ASM-FB4 module into the extended position. This
unlocks the module from the FortiGate unit.
4 Gently pull the latch to remove the module.
FortiGate-ASM-FB4 modules support both SerDes and SGMII type SFP
transceivers.
Dynamic SFP media type probing is not currently supported. Use the following
command to configure the SFP media type:

The default value is serdes.
SerDes SFP transceivers support only the fixed speed of 1Gbps; SGMII supports
tri-speed mode (10/100/1000 Mbps). Because forcing speed could result in link
failure and disrupted service, Fortinet recommends enabling link speed auto-
negotiation.
