Removal and replacement procedures for
Authorized Service Provider parts

NOTE:

This chapter provides removal and replacement procedures.
There are as many as 47 screws that must be removed, replaced, or loosened when servicing Authorized
Service Provider only parts. Make special note of each screw size and location during removal and
replacement.
Bottom cover
Description
Bottom cover
Before removing the bottom cover, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
Remove the bottom cover:
1.
Remove the seven Torx T8M2.0×5.0 screws (1) and the four Torx T8M2.0×3.5 screws (2) that secure the
bottom cover to the computer.
