3.6 Single Cable Module

The Single Cable Module (see Figure 3-11) connects to all of the various field stations and
/ or sensors using only two wires. These two wires provide the power feed to the various
field stations and also serves as the communication media.
The Single Cable Module should be located in the slot designated by the Site
Configuration definition (Programming Tool Box).
The Special Features of this Module are:
1. Short Wire protection between the two line wires and short wire protection
between each line wire shorted to ground.
2. Software notification of short circuit occurrence.
3. Automatic Piccolo RTU detection.
4. Up to 63 Piccolo RTUs supported.
5. Up to 126 inputs supported. (i.e., back indications or sensors).
