Be sure there's enough room behind the scanner for the cables, and above the
scanner so you can fully raise the document cover. If you're using the auto
document feeder, make sure there's enough room in front of the scanner to pull
out the lower paper support.

Unlock the Scanner

Before connecting the scanner to a power source, you must release the transportation
lock, located on the side of the scanner.
Turn the transportation lock down to the unlocked position using a coin or similar
object, as shown.
