EVGA NU Audio

EVGA NU Audio is a second and more powerful audio output available on the EVGA
Z490 FTW motherboard. Utilizing the more powerful headphone/speaker amp on the
Z490 FTW, NU Audio can drive up to 600ohm headphones, as well as providing the
ideal sound for every type of audio experience. The NU Audio application features a
user-friendly GUI to easily and quickly adjust settings or use a preset to jump right into
the action.
NU Audio is designed to work with 2.0 or 2.1 channel audio, such as headphones or
speakers with or without a subwoofer. The headphones/speakers must be connected via
an analog audio jack; headphones or speakers that connect via USB will not work with
NU Audio. Within the NU audio GUI, you can add virtualization and EQ options by
adjusting the settings.
Note: NU Audio is available only as a Stereo output option through the front panel
header. 4.0, 5.1, and 7.1 channel audio and stereo audio out of the rear I/O panel is not
available through the NU Audio GUI. If you wish to use 4.0, 5.1, 7.1 channel or stereo
output via the rear panel I/O, you must use the output ports located on the I/O Panel
of the motherboard (Page 13, Component 11) and configure your settings accordingly
via the Realtek HD Audio Manager.
Note: While the NU Audio exists separately from the Realtek HD Audio, some system
requirements, settings, and features crossover due to shared Windows audio resources.
As a result, some changes made in the Realtek HD Audio Manager will have an effect
on the audio output through NU Audio.
To use NU Audio:
1. Install the EVGA Z490 FTW motherboard, including the cable to your Front Panel
Audio Header (Page 11, component 22)
2. Install the Realtek HD Audio driver, included on the USB Flash drive with your
motherboard
3. Install the "NU Audio" driver and launch the NU Audio application
4. Attach your headphones or speakers to the front panel headphone/speaker jack on
your case or bay device.
5. Confirm that the Windows Playback default device is set to the Realtek High
Definition Audio.
