tire pressures are already being monitored.
Compare the tire pressure with the recom-

mended tire pressure for the current operating
condition ( page 295). Additionally, observe

the notes on cold tires ( page 293).

The values displayed in the on-board com-
puter may deviate from those of the tire pres-
sure gauge as they refer to sea level. At high
elevations, the tire pressure values indicated
by a pressure gauge are higher than those
shown by the on-board computer. In this case,
do not reduce the tire pressure.

The recommended tire pressure is correctly

set for the respective operating status on all of
the wheels ( page 293).

Restart the tire pressure monitoring system in the
following situations:
The tire pressure has changed.

The wheels or tires have been changed or
R
newly installed.

The Use Current Pressures as New Refer-
ence Values message is shown in the Instru-
ment Display.
To restart, press Touch Control on the le -

hand side of the steering wheel.

Current warning messages are deleted and
the yellow h warning lamp goes out.
A er you have been driving for a few minutes,
the system checks whether the current tire
pressures are within the speci ed range. The
current tire pressures are then accepted as
reference values and monitored.
