Engine Air Cleaner/Filter
Refer to the Maintenance Schedule to determine
when to replace the engine air cleanedfilter and the
crankcase ventilation filter. See Part A: Scheduled
Maintenance Services on page 6-4.
See Engine Compartment Overview on page 5-14 for
more information on location.

3. Change the filter.
4. Snap both clips to secure the engine air
cleaner/filter cover.
Be sure the engine air cleanedfilter cover is correctly
positioned to seal out dust and contaminants that
are harmful to your engine.
Operating the engine with the air cleanedfilter
off can cause you or others to be burned.
The air cleaner not only cleans the air,
it
stops
flame if the engine backfires. If
it
isn't there
and the engine backfires, you could be burned.
Don't drive with
it
off, and be careful working
on the engine with the air cleaner/filter off.

Notices If the air cleanerfiilter is off, a backfire
can cause a damaging engine fire. And, dirt
can easily get into your engine, which will damage
it. Always have the air cleanedfilter in place
To change the engine air
cleaner/filter, do the following:
when You're driving.
1. Unsnap both clips on the cover.
2. Remove the cover.
