THROTTLE OPERATION
Refer to the safety Precautions on page 37.
1. Check for smooth rotation of the
throttle grip from the fully open to the
fully closed position at both full steering
positions.
2. Measure the throttle grip freeplay at the
throttle grip flange.
The standard free play should be:
2-6 mm (0.08-0.24 in)
To adjust the freeplay, loosen the lock nut
(1) and turn the adjuster (2).

AIR CLEANER

The air cleaner element should be replaced

more frequently when riding in unusually
wet or dusty areas.
1. Remove the bolts and left side cover
from the grommets page 28.
2. Remove the bolt (1 no.) and screws
(2 nos.) to pull out the left rear cowl.
3. Loosen the screws (4 nos.) and remove
the air cleaner cover (2).
4. Take out the air cleaner element (3)
and replace.
