Servicing the Carbon Canister

Replacing the Carbon-Canister Air
Filter
Service Interval: Every 200 hours
1. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all moving
parts to stop before leaving the operating position.
2. Remove and discard the carbon canister air filter
(Figure
13).

3. Install the new air filter.
Replacing the Carbon-Canister
Purge-Line Filter
Service Interval: Every 200 hours
Note: Check the purge-line filter occasionally for dirt. If the
filter appears to be dirty, replace it.
1. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all moving
parts to stop before leaving the operating position.
2. Move the spring-type hose clamps on both sides of the
carbon canister purge-line filter away from the filter
(Figure
14).

3. Remove and discard the carbon filter
4. Install a new filter into the hose with the arrow on the
filter pointing towards the check valve and secure it
with the hose clamps

Servicing the Engine Oil

Note: Change the oil more frequently when the operating
conditions are extremely dusty or sandy.
Oil Type: Detergent oil (API service SG, SH, SJ or higher)
Crankcase Capacity (with filter): 2 L (67 oz)
Viscosity: See the table below.
