Log in to iDRAC

You can log in to iDRAC as:
iDRAC user
Microsoft Active Directory user
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) user
The default user name and password are root and calvin. You can also log in by using Single Sign-On
or Smart Card.
NOTE: You must have iDRAC credentials to log in to iDRAC.

Downloading the drivers and firmware

Dell recommends that you download and install the latest BIOS, drivers, and systems management
firmware on your system.
Prerequisites
Ensure that you clear the web browser cache before downloading the drivers and firmware.
Steps
1.
Go to Dell.com/support/drivers.
2.
Under the Drivers & Downloads section, type the Service Tag of your system in the Service Tag or
Express Service Code box.
NOTE: If you do not have the Service Tag, select Detect My Product to allow the system to
automatically detect your Service Tag, or under General support, navigate to your product.
3.
Click Drivers & Downloads.
The drivers that are applicable to your selection are displayed.
4.
Download the drivers you need to a USB drive, CD, or DVD.

Methods of installing the operating system

Your DL4300 Appliance is shipped with the operating system pre-installed. If you experience data
corruption or hard drive failure, you can recover your appliance configuration using the RASR feature. To
reset the Appliance to the factory configuration refer to the Rapid Appliance Self Recovery section in the
Dell DL4300 Appliance Deployment Guide at Dell.com/support/home.

Managing your system remotely

To perform out-of-band systems management by using iDRAC, configure iDRAC for remote accessibility,
set up the management station and managed system, and configure the supported web browsers. For
more information, see the Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller User's Guide at Dell.com/
idracmanuals.
You can also remotely monitor and manage the server by using the Dell OpenManage Server
Administrator (OMSA) software and OpenManage Essentials (OME) systems management console. For
