DANGER
Do not rely on the chain
saw 's insulation against
electric shock. To reduce
the risk of electrocution,
never operate this chain
saw in the vicinity of any
wires or cables (power,
etc.) which may be carry-
ing electric current.To
reduce risk of electrocu-
tion, take extra
precautions when cutting
near power lines. Have
the power switched off
before starting cutting
work in the immediate
vicinity of power lines.
Bar scabbard
Bar scabbard is designed especially for
using the chain saw in a tree, when the
engine is turned off.

Rings (1) – for attaching the scabbard to
the user's harness.
Snap fitting (2) – the bar scabbard is
held firmly on the sprocket cover of the
chain saw. This keeps it from slipping off
of the guide bar during transport.

Always push the chain scabbard onto
the guide bar as far as it will go. Snap
fitting (2) must engage onto the chain
sprocket cover.
Always use one of the two rings to fasten
the scabbard to the climbing harness for
storage while working.

Always use the pull-out ring (4) on the
back of the chain saw to transport and
secure the chain saw on a rope.
Never use one of the bar scabbard
rings (1) to transport or secure the chain
saw – risk of accident due to possible
falling chain saw!
Remove scabbard before starting the
engine.
MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND
STORING
Maintenance, replacement, or repair of
the emission control devices and
systems may be performed by any
nonroad engine repair establishment or
individual. However, if you make a
warranty claim for a component which
has not been serviced or maintained
properly or if nonapproved replacement
parts were used, STIHL may deny
coverage.
