FIELD WINDING INSPECTION
VOLTAGE INSPECTION
Remove the generator end cover (Base shop manual:
page 5-2).
Start the engine and measure the DC voltage at the
brush terminals.
ALL type
If the specified voltage is not obtained, inspect the
resistance (page 8-15).
RESISTANCE INSPECTION
Stop the engine and remove brush holder assembly.
Measure the resistance between the slip rings (1).
ALL type
If the specified resistance is zero or infinity, clean the
slip rings or replace the rotor (Base shop manual: page
8-19).
