(5) When the confirmation message is displayed, click O O K.
Print Head Deep Cleaning starts when the P P OWER lamp starts blinking.

Print the nozzle check pattern to check the Print Head condition.

If a particular color is not printed properly, replace the ink tank of that color. See
"R R eplacing an Ink Tank"

Ensure that the printer is on.

Open the B B J Printer Utility dialog box.
(1) Double-click the hard disk icon where the printer driver was installed, the
Applications folder, and then the U U tilities folder.
(2) Double-click the P P rinter Setup Utility icon.
When using versions of Mac OS other than Mac OS X v.10.3.x, double-click the
Print Center icon.
(3) Select the name of your printer from the N N ame list and click U U tility.
When using versions of Mac OS other than Mac OS X v.10.3.x, select the name of
your printer from the N N ame list and click C C onfigure.
(4) Select the name of your printer from the P P roduct list and click M M aintenance.

When cleaning the print head of black ink tanks (for iP4000): select
Black to clean the Print Head of Black (BCI-3eBK), C C olor to clean the
Print Head of Black (BCI-6BK).
Clicking I I nitial Check Items displays the items to be checked before
cleaning.
Do not perform any other operation until the P P rint Head Deep
Cleaning finishes. This takes about one minute.

If the print head nozzles are still not clean, open the Top Cover and
ensure that there are sufficient ink levels in all ink tanks and turn off
the printer. Be sure to perform another P P rint Head Deep Cleaning 24
hours after turning off the printer.
If this does not solve the problem, the Print Head may be worn out.
