Decommissioning and disposal

9.1 Decommissioning

9.1
Decommissioning
Sequence when decommissioning and disassembling the motor
Risk of injury and material damage
Injury and/or destruction of motor components can occur if you do not observe the specified
sequence when decommissioning and disassembling the motor.
Procedure
1. Bring the motor into a no-voltage condition. Wait until the DC link of the power module has
been discharged.
2. Allow the motor to cool down for at least 30 min.
3. Switch off the cooling. Reduce the pressure to 0 bar.
4. Disconnect the power and signal cables and the coolant pipes.
5. Insulate the open power connections.
6. Drain the coolant from the motor and dispose of it correctly.
7. Remove chips, dirt, foreign particles, etc. from the motor.
8. Insert the spacer film between the stator and rotor so that the stator and rotor cannot touch
each other. If the stator and rotor come into contact with each other, these two components
can be separated again only with considerable effort. The reason for this is the extremely
high magnetic attractive forces which they exert.
9. Detach the flange surface of the rotor from the machine construction.
10. Pack the rotor in its original packaging and keep the spacer film.
11. Detach the flange surface of the stator from the machine housing.
12. Pack the stator in its original packaging.
13. Store the motor components correctly.
