Troubleshooting

The water heater m ay not operate as desired if used incorrectly or there is a m inor cause,
even though the product has no fault. In these cases, check the following issues to solve
sim ple problem s without the help from the Custom er care centre. If the problem does not
solve after checking the following issues, call Custom er care centre.
Problems
Power indicator lam p and
Heating indicator lam p does
not glow.
Therm ostat does not shut OFF . Therm ostat is not functioning.
No hot water.
Water tem perature is too high. Im proper therm ostat calibration. Call Custom er care centre.
Water heats slowly.
Piping connection leaks.
Water leakage from product.
Water dripping from
Multi-function Safety
valve during heating.
Foul sm ell from hot
water

Possible Cause(s)
No power supply to the water
heater.
Im proper therm ostat calibration. Call Custom er care centre.
Therm al Cut-out switch open.
No power supply to the heater.
Control circuit or internal
wiring error.
Therm al Cut-out trips.
Heating Elem ent is not
functioning.
Connection not sealed.
Leakage in tank or other parts.
Non-return valve is installed
close to the inlet of the water
heater.
Presence of organic
m atter in input water.
No usage of hot water for
a long tim e period.
High electrical conductivity of
water due to dissolved
substances in input water.

Solution
T urn ON electrical switch.
Call Custom er care centre.
Call Custom er care centre.
Check the power socket.
Call Custom er care centre.
Call Custom er care centre.
Call Custom er care centre.
Re-connect piping, using
T eflon tape.
Switch off power im m ediately
and Call Custom er care centre.
Install Non-return valve at a
distance of atleast 40 feet
from the inlet of the water
heater or connect a Discharge
tube from Multi-function
Safety valve to nearby drain.
(Refer page 8)
Provide treated water at the
input.
If the water heater is not used
for an extended period of
tim e, drain the water from the
water heater. Ensure water is
filled back before use of water
heater.
Call Custom er care centre.
Anode options available
for highly conductive water.
