Important Information

Speed controlled volume

SCV = Speed Controlled Volume
The car radio is well-suited to most types of
signal generators.
Your vehicle dealer can inform you whether
your vehicle is suitable for "speed-controlled
volume regulation".
Conditions:
A speed-controlled signal must be present at
the SCV connection!
In vehicles with an electronic speedometer,
on-board computer, cruise controller etc., a
signal generator is already present.
If the signal generator is already connected to
the vehicle earth, the output of the signal
generator only needs to be connected to the
SCV connection.
í
Do not connect the signal generator
output to the vehicle earth!
After connecting, check the speedometer
and the ABS of the vehicle.
If there is no signal generator, it can be retro-
fitted in most cases.

Audio cassettes

Cassettes are subjected to high temperatures
during car radio operation. Therefore use only
high-quality heat-resistant C60 and C90 cas-
settes from name-brand manufacturers.

Radio Data System (RDS)

RDS is an information system the signals of
which are broadcast along with the FM radio
station programme.
Programme service
So that you see what you are listening to!
With RDS programmes, you see the abbrevi-
ated name of the programme in the display,
e.g. " BAYERN 3 "
which stands for Bayerischer Rundfunk –
Programme 3.
Please note that RDS programmes can have
different regional stations and programme
names.
Alternative frequencies
An RDS programme is broadcast by several
stations, each with a different broadcast
frequency (alternative frequencies).
You select an RDS programme and your car
radio will always tune to a station with an
alternative frequency giving best reception of
the same RDS programme.
