Using HANDS-FREE ACCESS with a pros-

thetic leg may restrict functionality.
Operation
(Example: Saloon)

To open/close: kick into sensor detection
range : under the bumper with your leg.
You will hear a warning tone while the boot
lid/tailgate is opening or closing.

If the boot lid/tailgate does not open
after several attempts: wait at least ten
seconds, then move your foot under the
bumper again.

If you hold your foot under the bumper for
too long, the boot lid/ tailgate does not
open or close. Repeat the leg movement
more quickly if this occurs.
Boot/luggage compartment
To stop the opening or closing procedure:
move your foot in sensor detection
R
range : under the bumper
pull the outside of the handle on the boot
R
lid/tailgate
press the closing button in the boot lid/
R
tailgate, or
press the F button on the key
R
If the boot lid/tailgate closing procedure has
been stopped:
kick with your foot again under the bumper
R
and the boot lid/tailgate will open.
If the boot lid/tailgate opening procedure has
been stopped:
move your foot again under the bumper and
R
the boot lid/tailgate will close.
Opening/closing automatically from
the inside
Important safety notes
G
WARNING
Parts of the body could become trapped dur-
ing automatic closing of the boot lid or tail-
gate. Moreover, people, e.g. children, may be
standing in the closing area or may enter the
closing area during the closing process. There
is a risk of injury.
Make sure that nobody is in the vicinity of the
closing area during the closing process.
Use one of the following options to stop the
closing process:
Press the F button on the key.
R
Press the remote operating switch on the
R
driver's door.
Press the closing or locking button on the
R
boot lid/tailgate.
Pull the handle on the boot lid/tailgate.
R

The boot lid/tailgate swings upwards and
to the rear when opened. Therefore, make
sure that there is sufficient clearance
above and behind the boot lid/tailgate.
