Check the condition of the motor-
cycle to help make sure that you
do not have mechanical problems
or get stranded somewhere when
you ride. Before riding the motor-
cycle, be sure to check the follow-
ing
items.

passenger and protection of the
motorcycle.
WARNING
Checking maintenance items
when the engine is running can
be hazardous. You could be
severely injured if your hands
or clothing get caught in mov-
ing engine parts.
Shut the engine off when per-

except when checking the
lights, engine stop switch, and
throttle.
