Checking Harness Height

To Check Harness Height:

Place child in restraint, then secure
harness (see pages 28–29) .

Observe where the shoulder harness is
positioned on the child .
• Rear-Facing Strap Height: Harness
straps should be located in the nearest
slot at or below the child's shoulder .
• Forward-Facing Strap Height: Harness
straps should be located in the nearest
slot at or above the child's shoulder .

If harness height is okay, continue using
child restraint without adjustment . If
harness height requires adjustment, refer
to Adjusting Harness Height on page
31 .
IMPORTANT: Once the top slots become

necessary, the child may continue to use

the restraint until the top of the ears
become level with the top of the restraint
shell or child's weight exceeds 65 pounds
(29 .5 kg) .

Harness Height Adjustment

Loosen harness by lifting harness adjuster
lever while pulling shoulder straps forward
as far as possible (Fig. A) .

From rear of child restraint, unhook
shoulder harness from yoke (Fig. B) .
Forward Facing

Pull straps through shell and cover, to
Strap Height
front of the restraint .
NOTE: Do not remove HUGS pads for
forward-facing use . Removal of HUGS is
optional for rear-facing use only .
4�
Thread harness straps through appropriate
harness-height slots (Fig. C) .
5�
Reattach harness straps to yoke (Fig. B) .
6�
Pull harness adjuster strap to tighten
harness .
7�
Verify
all straps are threaded at same
height and are not twisted .
