Using HyperTerminal to validate connectivity between client and the system:

HyperTerminal is a Windows application used for connecting to various sources and is supplied by all
Windows operating systems on the install media, though may not be automatically installed. When the
local console directly attached to the server does not connect, you can use HyperTerminal to determine if
the PC has connectivity to the system.
Note:
1. The data is slow to appear so be certain to allow a 15 - 20 seconds for an action to complete
before moving to the next step. Also keep in mind that some steps may not provide data to the
window. Wait a little time and then continue.
2. The following example was performed on a Windows 2000 PC. Other operating systems may
have slight differences in the presentation of options. The important part of this test is getting a
response back from the NEGOTIATE at the end of the document.
