The following text replaces the text in "snmp-server community" of
Chapter 25, "SNMP."
Command Mode: Global Configuration.
Description: Sets up an SNMP community string. SNMP
community strings control a management station's access to MIB
objects.
For more information about setting up SNMP communities, see
Chapter 2, "Initialize and Setup," in the Avaya P550R, P580, P880, and
P882 Multiservice Switch User Guide, Version 5.3.1.
Syntax:
snmp-server community <community-string> {ro | rw | none} [{normal |
admin | <catName>}] [<ip-addr>]
[no] snmp-server community <community-string>

Definition
The SNMP community string that you
want to configure.
The permission that you want to assign
to the community string. Options are:
• ro—Specifies read-only permission.
Allows authorized management
stations only to view MIB objects.
• rw—Specifies read-write
permission. Allows authorized
management stations to view and
modify MIB objects.
• none—Specifies no permission.
Allows management stations to
neither view or modify MIB objects.
