Thank youforyourpurchaseofaBriggs&StrattonHome
GeneratorSystem.Thisproductisintendedforuseas
anoptionalstandbysystemwhichprovidesanalternate
sourceofelectricpowerandtoserveloadssuchasheating,
refrigerationsystems,andcommunicationsystemsthat,
whenstoppedduringanypoweroutage,couldcause
discomfortorthelike.Thisproductdoesnotqualifyfor
emergencystandbyasdefinedbyNFPA70(NEC).
Thismanualisanimportantdocumentandshouldbe
retainedbytheownerafterinstallationhasbeencompleted.
Thismanualcontainsinstallation,startupandadjustment
instructionsforaHomeStandbyGeneratorthatsupplies
10/40Volt,singlephase,60Hzdevices.TheHome
StandbyGeneratormaybeoperatedonLPvaporornatural
gasfuel.
Everyefforthasbeenmadetoensurethattheinformation
inthismanualisbothaccurateandcurrent.However,the
manufacturerreservestherighttochange,alterorotherwise
improvethegeneratoratanytimewithoutpriornotice.

eachinstallationisunique,itisimpossibletoknowofand
advisethetradeofallconceivableproceduresandmethods

knowofpossiblehazardsand/ortheresultsofeachmethod

IMPORTANT:Ifoperatingthegeneratorbelow40°F,itis
recommendedthatabatterywarmerbeinstalled.Ifoperating
thegeneratorbelow3°F,abatterywarmermustbe
installed.Thisitemisavailableatyourlocalservicingdealer.

system is installed by licensed electrical and plumbing

forstandardssetbytheU.S.EnvironmentalProtection
AgencyandbytheCaliforniaAirResourcesBoard(CARB).

yourinstallation,aswellasensureyourfinalsatisfactionand
security.
Federalandlocalcodes,appearance,noiselevels,fueltypes,
anddistancesarethefactorsthatmustbeconsideredwhen
negotiatingwithaninstallationprofessional.Remember
thatasthedistancefromtheexistingelectricalserviceand
gaseousfuelsupplyincreases,andthenumberof90degree
bendsinthefuelsupplyincreases;equalcompensations
inpipingandwiringmaterialsmustbeallowedfor.This
isnecessarytocomplywithlocalcodesandovercome
electricalvoltagedropsandgaseousfuelpressuredrops.
The factors mentioned above will have a direct affect on
the overall price of your home generator installation.
NOTE:Insomeareasyoumayneedtoacquireelectrical
permitsforinstallingthehomegenerator,buildingpermits
forinstallinggaslines,andpermitsfornoiseallowances.
