The CoreBuilder 7000 family switch has a single IP address which serves
both the switch card and any CoreBuilder 7200, 7400, 7600 and 7800
interface cards installed in the CoreBuilder 7000 chassis.
The single-IP feature of version 4.0 is supported from version 5 of the
Transcend Enterprise Manager application. If you work with a previous
version of Transcend Enterprise Manager, you use the multiple-IP method.
A single IP has the following advantages:
Fewer IP address resources required
n
Simpler management by NMS
n
Unifies the chassis into one entity for management
n
The set of community strings for the SNMP agent of the switch card
n
