Maximizing battery life

A main battery can be recharged many times. Over time it will
gradually lose its ability to hold a charge. To maximize the life of
your main battery:
Avoid leaving the computer plugged in and unused for more
than a few hours. Overcharging the main battery may shorten
its life.
If you are not going to use the computer for a long period of
time, remove the battery.
Alternate between batteries if you have a spare.
Make sure your computer is turned off or in Hibernation
mode when you are replacing the battery.
Store spare batteries in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight.
NOTE: For optimum DVD performance, Toshiba
recommends that you play DVDs while running on AC power
rather than on battery power.

Charging batteries

The main battery needs to be charged before you can use it to
power the computer. You can charge the battery using your
computer, or you can use an optional battery charger.
CAUTION: Never leave batteries in the battery charger for
more than a week at a time. Doing so may reduce the
potential charge of the battery.
Use only battery chargers designed to work with your
notebook computer. You can order a Toshiba battery charger
from Toshiba's Web site at toshibaaccessories.com.
