Remove and Install Mandrels

Removal

1. Park and prepare machine for service. See "Prepare
Equipment for Service" on page 1-13.

2. Remove blade. See "Remove and Install Mower
Blades" on page 5-3.
3. Loosen nut (1).
4. Remove deck belt. See "Remove and Install Mower
Deck Belt" on page 5-4.
5. Remove nut and mandrel pulley (2).

6. Remove fasteners (3) and mandrel (4).
7. Clean and inspect mandrel. Repair or replace as
necessary.
8. Repeat steps 2–7 for removal of other mandrels.

Installation

Installation is done in reverse order of removal.
• Adjust deck belt tension. See "Adjust Deck Belt
Tension" on page 4-7.

Removal

1. Park and prepare machine for service. See "Prepare
Equipment for Service" on page 1-13.
2. Raise deck.

3. Loosen nut (1) and remove spring (2).
CAUTION
!
Mower deck will be heavier than normal with no
spring assist. Prevent crushing injuries, stand
clear of deck.
4. Lower deck.

5. Remove fasteners (3), pin (4), and mower deck
height box (5).
6. Clean and inspect mower height deck box. Repair or
replace as necessary.

Installation

Installation is done in reverse order of removal.
