CHAPTER 4: Recording

Quantize Function

This function is used to compensate for slight
inaccuracies in the playing data (the length of a note and
the timing of the key stroke). A measure is equally
divided into a certain number of sections (4, 6, 8, 12, and
16 sections) and the key strokes are fit exactly into the
sections. In the Disklavier, each section indicates a
quarter note.

Perform steps 1 and 2 of "Recording
Songs Based on Measures and Beats
(Metronome Mode Recording)". (→
pg. 48)

Tap on the desired song in the list that
appears.

Tap on
following screen appears.

Tap on [Quantize], and then press
to select the desired option
([1/4], [1/6], [1/8], [1/12], [1/16]).
The lower number of the fraction indicates the
number of sections a measure is evenly divided
into.

The metronome starts clicking.

Play the Disklavier along with the
metronome.
Recording starts automatically.

After playing the Disklavier, press
to stop recording.
To cancel Quantize function, select [OFF]
in step 4.
