10.2.2 Cleaning the Hot Water
Wand
The hot water wand must be cleaned externally with a
damp cloth after each use and, in any case, once a week.
Before performing
operation, make sure that the
wand is cold: Danger of Burning.
Never wash the wand with
abrasive pads as it could
get damaged.
10.2.3 Steam Wand Cleaning
It is essential to keep the steam wand clean to ensure
maximum efficiency of the steam function. A mix of
caramelized or dry milk on the wand worsens steam
dispensing and the milk frothing capacity of the machine.
Before performing
operation, make sure that the
wand is cold: Danger of Burning.
Clean the steam wand with a damp cloth after each use
and dispense a small amount of steam. In case there are
residues of caramelized or dry milk, move the wand
towards the drip tray and dispense steam for about 10
seconds. Leave the cloth on the steam wand. Any residues
of caramelized or dry milk will then be easily removed.
Repeat the process if the wand is still dirty.

A cleaning pin is supplied with the machine in case the
steam wand is stuck. The pin is located below the water
tank lid, in the upper part of the machine. The pin has two
ends: the longest one is to be used to clean the hole at the
base of the steam wand. In case the wand is still stuck,
unscrew and remove it. Clean it again with the pin and
then wash it under running water.
10.2.4 Cleaning the Drip Tray
Empty and wash the drip tray daily; this operation must
also be performed when the float is raised.
Remove the drip tray.
