w indshield and to the footweil.
During the cooling operation air
also enters via the center
outlets 8.
The vehicle in te rio r is cooled
practically free of draft with m ore
air being blown into the footweil.
The blower then operates at a
higher speed than " A U TO -LO " .
We recom m end this position at low
am bient tem peratures.
6 " DEF" button:
For iced-up w indow s.
Independent of the position of the
te m p e ratu re selector wheel air
heated to m axim um tem perature
is channelled to the w indshield.
For the side w indow s, open
outlets 9.

R efrigerant com p resso r switch:
Switching the air conditioning
co m p re sso r on and off.
The co m p re ssor can be switched
o ff com pletely in the positions
" A U TO -LO " and " A U TO -H I" , e. g.
if no cooling is required because of
low a m bient tem pe ratures (fuel
econom y).
Automatic Clim ate Control
Important!
In order to keep the air conditioning
section of the clim ate control system
in good w orkin g co ndition at all times,
it is necessary to operate the A /C
com pre ssor briefly at least once a
month even du ring the seasons it is
norm ally not required. Switch
co m presso r switch to " ON" and
depress " A U T O -LO " or " AUTO -HI"
button. M ake sure th a t the am bient
tem p era ture is above 36° F (2° C)
since the A /C com presso r will not
operate below this tem perature.
