5-2. Steps to take in an emergency
Have the vehicle inspected immediately.
Failing to investigate the cause of the following warnings may lead to
the system operating abnormally and possibly cause an accident.
Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer immediately.
Warning light
(Flashes rapidly)

Warning light/Details
Malfunction indicator lamp
Indicates a malfunction in:
• The electronic engine control system;
• The electronic throttle control system;
• The electronic automatic transmission control sys-
tem; or
• Emission control system.
SRS warning light
Indicates a malfunction in:
• The SRS airbag system; or
• The seat belt pretensioner system.
ABS warning light
Indicates a malfunction in:
• The ABS; or
• The brake assist system.
Slip indicator
The indicator comes on to indicate a malfunction in:
• The VSC;
• The TRC;
• The active traction control system (if equipped); or
• The Crawl Control system (if equipped).
Four-wheel drive indicator (if equipped)
Indicates a malfunction in the four-wheel drive sys-
tem.
Unengaged "Park" warning light
Malfunction in the transmission "Park" mechanism.
