[b] If the resistance is less than 5Ω, repair the short between wires 32 and 64 of the
120–pin MCM connector. See Figure 61-2. Refer to section 61.2.1.1.

Constant Throttle Valve
5. Measure the resistance between pin 1 of the Constant Throttle Valve connector and ground.
[a] If the resistance is greater than 5Ω, repeat steps 4 and 5. If the results are the same,
contact the Detroit Diesel Customer Support Center (313–592–5800).
[b] If the resistance is less than 5Ω, repair the short between pin 1 of the Constant
Throttle Valve connector and ground. Refer to section 61.2.1.1.

Verify Repairs
Perform the following steps to verify repairs.
1. Turn vehicle ignition OFF.
2. Reconnect all connectors. Turn ignition ON.
3. Clear codes with diagnostic tool.
4. Start and run the engine for one minute. Stop engine.
5. Check diagnostic tool for codes.
[a] If no codes are displayed, troubleshooting is complete.
[b] If code 701/4 is not logged and other codes are logged, troubleshoot the logged codes.
[c] If code 701/4 and other codes are logged, review this section to find the error. If no
error is found, call the Detroit Diesel Customer Support Center (313–592–5800).
