Electrical Connection Requirements

Safety Precautions

 You must follow electric safety regulations when installing the unit.

Use a qualified electrical supply and circuit breaker that is properly grounded in accordance
with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all state and local codes and ordinances.
 Make sure that the power supply fulfills the requirements of the air conditioner. Avoid unstable
power supplies and incorrect wiring that can lead to malfunctions. Be sure to install proper
power supply cables before using the air conditioner.
 Connect the live wire, neutral wire, and grounding wire of the power socket with proper
precautions.
 Be sure to disconnect the power supply before proceeding with any maintenance related to
electricity or other safety hazards.
 Do not connect the unit to a power supply before completing installation.
 If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service
agent, or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a safety hazard.
 The refrigerant circuit will have a high temperature. Keep the interconnection cable away from
the copper tube.
 The appliance must be installed in accordance with national wiring regulations.

Grounding Requirements

 The air conditioner must be properly grounded. Incorrect grounding may cause electric shock.
 The yellow-green wire in the air conditioner is the grounding wire. Do not use this wire for any
other purpose.
 The grounding resistance must comply with National Electric Code (NEC) specifications.
 The appliance must be positioned near an accessible power supply.
 An all-pole disconnection switch with a contact separation of at least
should be connected in fixed wiring.
 Use an appropriate circuit breaker size: Between 10 and 15 Amps. The recommended
breaker size is 15 Amps. The circuit breaker should include a magnet buckle and heating
buckle function. This protects from short-circuits and electrical overloads. (Caution: Do not
use just the fuse to protect the circuit.)
