    Replace the activated carbon filter The activated carbon filter cannot be cleaned and needs to be disposed of when cleaning the pre-filter. EdgeStar sells replacement activated carbon filters.     Move the air conditioner to another outlet, and test the outlet with a voltage tester or another appliance that is known to be non-defective. If the outlet is bad, contact an electrician and move the air conditioner to another outlet.
