Install the S500 Series PCIe Expansion Module
The S500 Series is equipped with a PCIe expansion module that houses four PCIe cards - two full-height and two low-pro-
file cards. The S500 Series also come with three low-profile expansion slots directly on the motherboard. These slots can
be accessed without the removal of the PCIe expansion module.
ALWAYS observe proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) conventions. Attach an ESD protective
wrist strap to your wrist and to the chassis. Ensure that the appliance is on an ESD-safe work sur-
face or ground the unit appropriately. Blue Coat does not assume responsibility or liability for dam-
age resulting from ESD.
1. Align the PCIe expansion module with the posts on the chassis and press down. The module handle automatically
lowers as it is being seated into place.
2. Lock the PCIe module in place by pressing down on the handle the rest of the way while pressing on the four
corners of the module. Verify that the module is flat and aligned with the rest of the adjoining chassis structures.
