ADJUST YOUR TRACTOR
ADJUST THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL
LEVER (Figure 13)
Should the tractor fail to shift correctly when you shift
into a forward, neutral or reverse position, the trans-
mission control lever may need adjusting.
To check the transmission control lever:
1. Place the transmission control lever into any
forward gear position.
2. Move the transmission control lever toward the
seat side of the transmission control lever quadrant.
The free play distance should be less than 3/8 inch but
more than 1/8 inch.
3. If either distance is out of tolerance, proceed To
adjust the transmission control lever.

To adjust the transmission control lever:
1. Located under the right rear fender near the end
of the transmission control lever is a nylon locknut. This
nut is used to adjust the transmission control lever.
2. If the distance between the transmission control
lever and the transmission control lever quandrant is
less than 1/8 inch do the following:

a. Turn the nylon locknut counter-clockwise until
correct.
3. If the distance between the transmission control
lever and the transmission control lever quadrant is
more than 3/8 inch, do the following:
a. Turn the nylon locknut clockwise until correct.
