USING THE WEATHER RADIO SPECIFICATIONS
Your GMR1048-2CK radio can receive weather Channels 15 GMRS/7 FRS/7 Weather
broadcasts from the NOAA National Weather Sub Codes 38 Sub-Audible Tones
Service. When in the Weather Radio Alert mode, 61 DCS Codes
the system functions as it does in GMRS mode but Operating Frequency
also monitors the selected weather channel for GMRS/FRS: 462.5500 - 467.7125 MHz
alerts when not communicating. WX: 162.4000 - 162.5500 MHz
While using the Weather Radio, you are not able to Power Source NiMH Battery Pack (BP40) or
receive GMRS communications. 4 AAA Alkaline Batteries

1) To turn ON the Weather Radio Broadcast mode,

1) Press and hold the wx/alert key. The
icon appears on the display.
2) When the unit receives a warning signal, it beeps
for 5 seconds. The icon, the icon
and channel indicator blinks.
3) To turn OFF Weather Alert, press and hold the
wx/alert key. The icon disappears from
the display.

When Weather Alert is activated, the highest priority
is given to this function. It checks the weather alert
signals every 7 seconds and switches to the warning
receive mode automatically.

Weather Alert is activated even if key beep is
turned off.
