A negative value moves the frame towards the operator side of the web.
Note
You must be logged on as an Advanced Operator or Key Operator to set or edit the Edge
Distance values.
Resolution and Speed
The CiPress marking system lays scanlines on the web at a constant rate. As a result,
as the process direction (Y) resolution increases, the web speed decreases. For optimal
image quality, the FreeFlow Print Server RIPs the job to the selected resolution and the
CiPress is set to the corresponding speed.
The CiPress UI provides a system level setting for print speed / resolution with the
following options:
Cross Process (X) Resolution
600 dpi
600 dpi
The CiPress speed / resolution setting can only be changed while the CiPress is cycled
down and Offline.
Caution
When the CiPress speed / resolution is changed, the CiPress UI where the change was
made displays a message instructing the operator to ensure that any necessary engine
calibrations have been run at the new speed before printing.
Changes to the printer speed / resolution setting take effect at the next cycle up.
Note
In a tandem / duplex print line, a change to the printer speed / resolution at either
CiPress UI changes the speed of both printers.
Setting Resolution - Speed Combinations
The Resolution - Speed setting is in the Run view of the CiPress UI.
1. In the Run view, select the Resolution - Speed icon.
The Resolution - Speed panel displays.
2. Select High Resolution or High Speed.
Ink Usage Estimation
The CiPress Ink Usage Estimation feature allows you to monitor how much ink is
consumed during printing and print head maintanence. In addition, you can start and
stop ink usage monitoring, as well as view ink usage by individual color on the CiPress
UI.
Note
Frame level usage data is also available via a log file.
