1. Overview

The unit has two test functions: DAILY TEST that uses the TEST key and the other is done through the
setup menu.

Pressing [3/TEST/DEF] key on DSC stanby screen or Radiotelephone setting screen automatically
starts the daily test and displays the test results. The test checks the main CPU on CONTROL/MODEM
board, MODEM, and both RX boards, and ensures the connection between MF/HF transceiver and
NBDP with MIF command.

This test menu is protected and requires password to open it. The test menu is largely classified into on-
board test, factory test, and performance check for type approval.
- On-board test: Transmitting power and frequency test
- Factory test: Test of circuit boards during their adjustment in the factory
- Performance check for type approval: Tests to clear the type inspection (TA TEST)
