Checks
Is the deck properly set?
Is the lifter cable properly attached?
Push up the pick-up roller release
lever by a finger. Does the pick-up
roller lower?
Does the pedestal motor rotate?
Set the meter to the 50VDC range.
Does the voltage between J202-2 (+)
and J202-4 (–) on the pedestal
controller PCB change to +34V when
the deck is slid in and then to 0V?
Set the meter to the 12VDC range.
Does the voltage between J113-10 (+)
and J113-8 (–) on the pedestal
controller change as follows?
0V when the deck is opened; and
5V when the deck is closed.
Set the meter to the 30VDC range.
Does the voltage between J114-4 (+)
and J114-5 (–) on the pedestal
controller PCB change to 24V when
the deck is slid in and then to 10V?
Yes/No
Remedy
NO
Set the deck properly.
NO
Attach the cable properly.
NO
Detach the pick-up assem-
bly, and check the spring and
lever.
YES
Go to step 6.
NO
Replace the pedestal control-
ler PCB.
YES
Check the wiring up to the
pedestal motor; if normal,
replace the pedestal motor.
NO
Check the lever and wiring; if
normal, replace the sensor.
YES
Check the wiring up to the
deck lifter drive clutch; if
normal, replace the clutch.
NO
Replace the pedestal control-
ler PCB.
