Radio operation with RDS (Radio Data System)
To select a scanned station and switch
off Preset Scan:
Press the rocker switch briefly.
Scanning stations with
Radio Scan
You can also scan all of the stations within
reception range.
Radio Scan cannot be started unless PTY
is switched off ("PTY" is not highlighted in
the display).
If necessary, switch off PTY on menu lev-
el 2. To do so
press TU and NEXT one after the oth-
er and then the PTY key.
To start the Scan function:
Press TU and SCAN briefly.
All of the stations on the waveband select-
ed and within reception range will be
scanned one after the other. "FM SCAN" or
"AM SCAN" will appear in the DOT display.
To select a scanned station and switch
off the Radio Scan function:
Press the rocker switch briefly.
If you do not select a station, the scan func-
tion will automatically switch off after the fre-
quency band has been run through com-
pletely. The unit will tune into the station you
were listening to before you started the scan
function.

Changing the scan time (Scan)

The scan time can be set from between 5 to
a maximum of 30 seconds.
If you would like to alter the scan time,
please refer to the section on "DSC program-
ming - VAR (Various), SCAN (time)".
Selecting the seek tuning sensi-
tivity
You can alter the automatic seek tuning sen-
sitivity separately for AM and FM.
If you would like to alter the sensitivity level,
please refer to the section on "DSC program-
ming - TUN(er) S-DX, S-LO").
Switching from stereo to mono
(FM)
You can switch stereo/mono on menu level
2. If reception is poor, you may get better
sound quality by switching from stereo to
mono. Each time the radio is switched on,
stereo playback is activated automatically.
The unit will gradually switch to mono if the
signal received is not strong enough for ster-
eo playback.
If you would like to switch to mono,
press TU and NEXT one after the
other.
The red arrow for mono will light up when
you have switched to MONO.
Press MONO to switch between stereo
to mono.
The mode selected will appear briefly in the
top line of the display.
Automatic bandwidth adjust-
ment (SHARX)
In the DSC menu, you can use the SHARX
function to adjust automatic bandwidth
switching in the FM frequency range. This
can be a great advantage when there are a
large number of stations within your current
reception range.
