If You Cannot Make Clear Copies

Problem
Copies appear dirty.
The reverse side of an original
image is copied.

A shadow appears on copies if
you use the pasted originals.
The same copy area is dirty
whenever making copies.
Copies are too light.
Parts of the image are not cop-
ied.
Copies are blank.
A moire pattern is produced
on copies.

When copying with the ADF,
black lines appear.

Image density is too dark.
Image density is too dark.

The exposure glass, exposure
glass cover, or the ADF is
dirty.
Image density is too light.
Damp or rough grain paper is
used.
Toner bottle is almost empty.
The original is not placed cor-
rectly.
An improper paper size is se-
lected.

Your original has a dot pat-
tern image or many lines.
Your ADF might be dirty.
Solutions
Adjust the image density. See
