Introduction to the Computer Telephony Adapter 100/200
The Norstar Computer Telephony Adapter (CTA) is a peripheral device which connects a
Windows compatible personal computer (PC) or server to the Norstar KSU. It allows you
to use computer telephony applications such as Norstar Personal Call Manager.
What is in the box
Check the contents of your CTA package to make sure you have all of the parts shown in
the diagram below.
* May be supplied separately, depending on the kit purchased.

Installation overview

Installing the CTA 100/200 involves two steps:
• Hardware installation (Connecting the Computer Telephony Adapter 100/200)
• Software installation (Installing the Computer Telephony Adapter software)
When you are using a serial cable to install the CTA 100 or the CTA 200, install the
hardware first and then install the software.
When you are using the USB cable to install the CTA 200, install the software first and
then install the hardware. This allows you to take full advantage of the Plug and Play
capability of the CTA 200 and the USB port.
