About the folding device About the folding device The Océ Folder Professional 6011/6013 is an automatic online folding device which can be connected to a variety of printers. • Prints which should be folded may be up to 914 mm (36") wide with an unlimited length (optional).
Introduction You can find the safety manual for this product on the download website under the product name "http://downloads.oce.com" For your protection, please read these safety instructions and the manual completely before operating the machine. Carefully observe all warnings, precautions and instructions on the machine or the ones described in the operating instructions.
Installation and environment Installation and environment Installation The folder should be installed by a specially trained engineer. Environment The room in which the folder is to be placed should be dry and dust free. Humidity should be about 20-80% with room temperature of 15° C to 35° C (59°F - 95°F). The folder must stand horizontally aligned and very stable without shaking.
Maximum paper curl Maximum paper curl Strong paper curl has an influence to quality and reliability of the system. Quality issues and jams can occur by a curl bigger than 30 mm. To measure the paper curl, cut a 200 mm long piece from the copy and lay it face down on a table.
Page 20
Power cable Please use only the power cable supplied with the folder. Do not use multi plug extension cords. These cords will not stand the power consumption of plotter and folder. The wall plug must be near to the machine and easy to access. Power supply box The power supply box is at the fan folder's right bottom side.
Page 21
Self test The folder runs a self test of the system. The standard start screen appears in the display, if the test runs without any problem. Error code In case a problem has been detected during the self test, the screen shows an error code. Please refer to the chapter 'Trouble shooting' for more information.
Mapfold Mapfold General The mapfold option can be enabled by instal- ling a license key. This enhances the foldable package width to 100-305 mm which allows maps to be folded to their standard format. Hiking-, biking- or city maps can be created fast and dependable in individual volumes.
Page 25
Mapfold 105 mm x 200 mm As the last page must not be smaller than 95 mm, we need to increase the size of the last panel by increasing the paper length or chang- ing the panel size. If we reduce the panel size for 1 mm to 104 mm, the last page will grow with every layer for 1 mm, in the example 10 x 1 mm = 10 mm.
Long plot - Unlimited paper length Long plot - Unlimited paper length Introduction The Longplot option can be enabled by installing a license key. NOTE If the option is not installed, the folder stops to fold after 28 panels and puts the rest of the sheet unfolded out at fan fold exit.
Graphical User Interface via Android device Graphical User Interface via Android device Introduction The folding device is equipped with a 7" Android Tablet PC, which is connected to the folder via Bluetooth. This device has no battery and gets power from an internal USB port. The tablet and the Folder App are starting as soon as the folder has been switched on.
Select a folding program Select a folding program Introduction This procedure is used to select the folding program for manual folding. NOTE When a folding program is sent to the folder by the printer controller, the screen displays this folding program during the folding process. The selected folding program on the folder is ignored.

Online folding Online folding Introduction CAUTION In most cases the title block (legend) has to be on the leading edge of the document entering the folder and the print orientation has to be portrait (see drawing). The title block position has to be set in the plot software you are using.
Manual folding Manual folding Introduction Depending on the connected printer the online connection needs to be switched offline in order to start manual folding. NOTE The manual folded packet could differ from the online folded packet. Since there is no information sent online about the paper sheet, depending on the pre-set program the folder produces either calculated folding styles or non calculated ones which could cause non matching last sheets.
