Hazard from parts flying out.
If the motor is brought into operation without output elements, the keys must be
secured against being thrown out.
The general measures required for protection against accidental contact with the
output elements must be applied.

Cooling

Self-cooling
The rated data only apply if the ambient temperature does not exceed 40 °C (104 °F) as a
result of the installation conditions.
Recommendation:
Maintain a gap of 100 mm to adjacent components on at least three sides in order to allow
waste heat to dissipate.
Forced ventilation

Only connect the ventilation unit via a suitable motor contactor (not included in the scope of
delivery).
Connection values

Cooling air must be able to flow in and out freely.
Do not take heated outgoing air in again to cool the motor.
Minimum clearances between air inlet and outlet and customized components:
1FT6 13.
1FT6 16.
The cover plates on the non-drive end shield which are removed in order to
screw the motor tight must be refitted before the motor is started up!
Water-cooling
Closed coolant circuit with heat exchange unit required. Do not use any nonferrous metals
(e.g. copper or brass pipework) in the cooling circuit (electrolyte formation).

Pressure
A relief pressure valve and a particle filter (100 µm) are required in the feed pipe.
