Following installation of the Rinnai Hot Water Package the following must be done to commission the
system. This is to include the commissioning of the unvented domestic hot water system. The
commissioning for the Rinnai water heaters should be in the manual or advice can be obtained by
calling the Technical Department on 01928 531870.
1.
After installation of the package but before connecting to the water heater(s) or the building
pipework, all pipework, all valves and the cylinder should be flushed out.
2.
Connect the package up to the water heater(s) and the building pipework.
3.
Check all connections for tightness.
4.
Check the TSTAT1 temperature is between 60 and 65°C. Also check the temperature of the
TSTAT2 is set at around 90°C although this can be slightly lower if desired.
5.
Check the expansion vessel pre-charge pressure according to the manufacturers specification.
6.
Make sure the drain is closed then open up the highest hot and cold water taps and other terminal
fittings.
7.
Open the mains water isolation valve and allow the cylinder to fill.
8.
Once water is visibly coming out of the furthest out let close off the mains water and check the
system for leaks.
9.
Manual test all pressure reliefs to ensure they operate and that the discharge water runs freely.
Ensure the valves then re-seat correctly with no leaks.
10.
Switch on the power to the water heater(s) and carry out the commissioning as per the instruction
manual by using the drain point fitted to the system.
11.
Turn on the controls system for the primary pump and check the operation is correct.
12.
Turn the high limit stat down to witness that when operated the stat isolates the power to the
heater(s).
13.
Check the pressure after the pressure reducer is at a constant 3.5 bar however this can be slightly
lower if desired.
14.
Explain to the customer that the system must be serviced annually.
It is the installers responsibility to ensure the system is safe.
