At times of heavy draw off the mains water will feed into the bottom of the cylinder and into the Rinnai Water Heater(s). The system has been correctly sized to give the right mix of mains water heated to C and mains water straight into the cylinder to have no effect on the overall temperature of the hot water supply.
  • Page 8: Planning Out The Site

PLANNING OUT THE SITE When choosing the location of the Infinity hot water package the following should be taken into account. 1. The cylinder has a necessary clearance of 100mm to the back and sides, 600mm to the front, and 200mm above.
  • Page 9: Water Heater Pipework

WATER HEATER PIPEWORK Flow Rates The primary pumps supplied with the hot water packages are designed to give a flow rate through each unit of 16 litres/minute. The pipework should be sized for a minimal pressure drop through the pipework. The total flow through the header can be found by multiplying the number of units by 16 l/min.

UNVENTED KIT The Rinnai Infinity Hot Water Package comes with a full Unvented Kit as required by current regulations. The Unvented Kit prevents back siphonage into the water mains supply, takes up the expansion of water as it is heated, reduces the pressure when necessary, and releases the pressure in the system if an overpressure situation occurs.

The pump should be sized to give a sufficient flow rate so that the retuning water temperature is over 50°C. Rinnai do not supply or size this pump as it depends on the design and size of the building flow and return pipework.
  • Page 19 Rinnai UK has had the Hot Water Package specially approved so that it is not required to fit equal capacity T & P Valves to the full input of the system. Rinnai is required to exceed the capacity of the largest heater with a Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve (based on the temperature scale).

Safety Thermostat / High Limit Thermostat (TSTAT 2). This should be installed in the top 1/2 inch port of the cylinder. The Rinnai water heater(s) require a standard 240v 1ph 50 Hz supply. each water heater must have a local method of electrical isolation to both poles with a minimum separation of 3mm for servicing.
