Installing the Pads or Spring Isolators
Use the following instructions to install the elastomeric
pads or optional spring isolators as shown on on page
36
1. Attach the rigging chains from the overhead lift to
the four lifting holes.
The lifting chains along the axis of the
evaporator/condenser shells should not
exceed 90° +/- 10°. A spreader bar may
be required to achieve the +/- 10°.
One chain is required per each lifting
point.
Use lifting chains with working load limit
each at least 40% of the total shell weight.

2. With an adequate lifting device lift the unit slight-
ly off the ground to determine adjustments neces-
sary to keep the unit level. Make adjustments as
necessary to level the unit.
3. Lift the unit to provide adequate clearance to in-
stall the pads or spring isolators.
Refer to the Installing Elastomeric Vibra-
tions Isolator Pads on Figure 9 on page
29, or Installing Optional Spring Iso-
lators on page 32 for additional details.
4. When the isolators are mounted, place the unit in
the final location.
5. Verify the alignment is still within 1/4 inch (6
mm) tolerance. If the unit is not level within the
amount specified, lift the chiller and place shims
where needed to level within specification.
